TCAG meet Shadow Roads Minister
Members of TCAG were pleased to meet with Shadow Roads Minister, Bill Esterson MP on 7th March 2024 to discuss the proposed £10bn+++ Lower Thames Crossing. As well as our concerns we also shared info about better, more sustainable, more affordable alternatives like rail and trams.
Whilst as a group we remain politically neutral, we are always more than happy to discuss the proposed LTC, and we have been working on opening up communications with the Labour Party on a national level for some time now. With a General Election looming this was a great opportunity to discuss LTC with the Shadow Roads Minister, particularly as Labour have said they are reviewing all major infrastructure projects.
We would like to thank Jen Craft Labour’s Thurrock MP candidate who assisted in organising the meeting, and of course Mr Esterson for his time.
After the meeting we sent Mr Esterson written evidence to back up our discussions.
