Professor Phil Goodwin on proposed LTC

Phil Goodwin is an Emeritus Professor of Transport Policy at University College London and the University of the West of England, and Senior Fellow of the Foundation for Integrated Transport. He was formerly a transport planner at the Greater London Council, Director of the Oxford University Transport Studies Unit, a non-Executive Director of the Port of Dover, and a member of SACTRA, the Standing Advisory Committee on Trunk Road Appraisal.  He is currently working on the new policies and methodologies necessary for transport to cope with and combat climate change, and how this can be done in a way which enhances safety, health, accessibility and equity.

Professor Goodwin was one of Thurrock Council’s consultants on their LTC team for the LTC DCO Examination contributing to both written and oral evidence during the examination.  TCAG are delighted to have been in touch with Professor Goodwin over the years, and working alongside him on some of our work against the proposed LTC.

A regular expert contributor to leading industry publications like Local Transport Today (LTT), Professor Phil Goodwin has recently written two articles on the proposed LTC.
