Environmental Audit Committee Public Inquiry
The Government’s Environmental Audit Committee are holding a Public Inquiry – ‘Aligning the UK’s economic goals with environmental sustainability’ – click here to find out more.
Putting it a bit more simply, they are calling for views on revising the traditional measure of UK economic prosperity to take greater account of natural capital and environmental sustainability. So hopefully that would mean moving away from purely financial growth and benefits, and moving more in the direction of also realising and acting according to the value of nature and the environment.

Update 27 Jan 2022 – Whilst not all submitted evidence has to be accepted by the committee, we are pleased to say that we have just received confirmation that our evidence has been published.
