TfL Crossings
As you know, between 2 December 2015 to 12 February 2016, TfL held a public consultation on proposals for new river crossings at Gallions Reach and Belvedere. TfL received over 4,500 responses from members of the public, businesses and other stakeholders offering their views.
Respondents expressed overwhelming support for the crossings, with almost 90 per cent supporting a new crossing at Gallions Reach, Belvedere or at both locations. There was also strong support for the potential public transport options presented as part of the consultation.
TfL also learned more about the predicted use of both crossings, with around 40 per cent of respondents saying they would use Gallions Reach and/or Belvedere by car, nearly 30 per cent by public transport and around 10 per cent by foot or on a bicycle.
You can find out more about the results in our recently published consultation report. This report also includes responses to key issues raised throughout the consultation, and can be found by visiting our website.
Over the coming months, we will work to further develop the plans for these crossings and will consider feedback from this consultation to help inform the next steps for the project.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact the project team by emailing rivercrossings@tfl.gov.uk.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you again for taking the time to provide your feedback to our consultation.
Kind regards,
Peter Bradley
